US Army sergeant Joe Cassidy’s uncanny ability to maintain his cover for so long and continue to convince his Russian handlers that they had a mole in the US Army allowed the FBI to uncover of thirteen Soviet spies including three “illegals” working in the US under fake identities. After retiring, Cassidy and his wife Marie moved to the Sun Belt. He died in 2011.
